Home Sweet Home

Well, we made it. Almost. We still have a few things left at the old house, but we're getting close. This has seriously been the most stressful move ever! I can't wait for the moment a month from now when we can sit back and relax for awhile when Eric gets home from work. I'll try to upload some pictures soon. We won't have internet at our house until the end of next week.

You know how when you move into a new home there are always odd things about your new house.

Here's my list of odd things in our new house:

1. The guest bathroom has a bark-like texture on the walls that makes you feel like your peeing inside a tree.

2. The toilet in the guest bathroom is a weird shape. (I'll upload a pic when I can.) But, you can't see the toilet very well because it's dark and you're looking at the bark-like walls.

3. Most of the lights and fans are on remote control.

4. The remote control fans randomly turn on because of all of the radio frequencies. For instance, when I lock or unlock my car, it turns on the ceiling fan in the living room. Which is a problem when my child is obsessed with balloons. The balloons get sucked into the fan. It's traumatic.

Anyways, stop by anytime!

Oh my gosh!

Well, we closed on our house yesterday. Yippie! We are moving Sunday. Yippie! I'm so excited because for the first time I can actually picture our family growing and kids getting older in this house. I hope we stay there for many years!

But, let me tell you about today. My parents offered to buy us paint and help paint some rooms as a house warming gift. Thank you! The only problem was that at about 5pm I looked up at the paint color that I, yes, I had picked out for the kitchen. No joke, it looked like Papa Smurf had barfed all over the kitchen. I really wish I'd taken a picture. So, we went back to the store to buy new paint. (Of course, at this time I was red eyed and puffy faced in Home Depot from crying the whole way there because I was causing more work for everyone, and because I'm very hormonal pregnant.) About 30 minutes after we got back to the house, Eric accidentally dropped a ladder in the kitchen. (The kitchen he was repainting for me.) The ladder literally broke off the counter top. What? Who knew a counter top could break off?

We are hoping for a smoother day tomorrow.

Oh yes, and I forgot to call the water people. So, we're collecting pee in all of our toilets and we can't shower. They don't open again until Monday.

We'd love for any of you to stop by. Just poop before you come.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I don't know exactly who or what happened. But, somehow RBC has confirmed that we can close on Friday. Thank you, God! Thank you to those of you that made phone calls, said a prayer, etc...

Help! Anyone have a connection to RBC?

RBC just came out and said their loan turnaround time would be greater. So, as of tonight, we cannot close on our house this Friday. We have everything lined up and need to be out in order to get our current house ready for the renter in time. Anyone know anyone important at RBC that can call in a favor?

Going To Miss The Ghetto

The house next door to ours (the old house) has just sold after being for sale for 18 months now. I drove up to our house today to find our new neighbors parked in front of our house. Parker got out of the car and ran over to check out the wheels on their car. The whole time he was screaming, "Wook! (Look!) Wow! Wook! Wow!" Later, my dogs were barking furiously in the backyard (which they do all the time). I went outside to apologize to our neighbor and to bring the dogs inside. That's when I saw that he was training a baby pitbull. He then told me that he liked my dogs barking at him and asked me to leave them out. Hmmm.

Why?

Someone recently asked me why I have my vaccuum cleaner just sitting in the living room. The picture explains it all.

Labor and Delivery: Take One

One of my goals with this pregnancy was to only go to the Labor and Delivery part of the hospital on the day that we are having our little girl. Oh well! No, we have not had our baby. Thank God! (I'm not quite ready yet!) I ended up catching some random cold/flu virus that sent me into dehydration into mild contractions into a very rapid baby's heartbeat. We spent a couple days in the hospital to get everything settled again. And now, on day 8 of this nasty bug, I finally am starting to feel better. Thanks to all of you who called or emailed.

It was very odd being rolled in a wheelchair past all of the delivery rooms. My thoughts went from "Oh no! I'm going to contaminate every newborn in the hospital," to "Holy Crap! I can't believe Eric got me into this baby mess again!" I have to say that the whole experience was a little overwhelming.

We now have 10 weeks (at the most) until our little Sydney Dawn arrives. Wow!!!!
